About the Super Stars!
Tell us a little about yourself? Where did you grow up and how did you get into horses?
I was born and raised in Big Piney Wyoming and recently moved to Saratoga Wyoming. I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old. My dad roped so I was naturally around it and loved it!
What is your Gucci’s personality like? Any quirks? What is something people may not know about your horse?
She’s very opinionated and lets you know what she’s thinking at all times. She is a quirky horse, but a winner!
Did you breed and raise Gucci yourself? If not, what attracted you to her to purchase?
I bought her as a two year old and have done everything with her since then! She was beautiful and her confirmation was perfect. She had the looks you would want when buying a prospect.
Tell us anything special about your arena record run – was there anything you done different that day?
I did everything the same that day as I always do! We ended up setting a new arena record so I wouldn’t change anything.
Do you have a favorite setup?
I’m really lucky with Gucci. She’s seems to like most set ups I through at her. Which is great due to her being mainly a rodeo horse. I think I prefer outdoor arenas though.
What is your Gucci’s exercise routine like?
I do tons of long trotting. She never sees an arena when the weather allows it! I’m always riding her outside in the fields. This helps her stretch out and crave running. She gets rode 5-6 times a week to ensure she’s in top running shape.
What is your feeding program like, do you use any special supplements?
Free choice hay and alfalfa. She gets Platinum CJ everyday in her grain.
What is a bit that will always be hanging in your tack room?
I love every Ed Wright bit and have a couple of each.
Does Gucci run in shoes or barefoot?
She has shoes on.
Any big Future Plans?
This year my goals are circuit finals again and I have set outside of my circuit to try to see what we can get done in the world standings.
If you could make a run on any horse out there, who would it be?
I would love to run Kassie Mowry’s, Jarvis!
EquiSpace Records – Congratulations Karson and Gucci on setting a new arena record! Thanks for sharing a little glimpse into your lives. We’ll be cheering you on as you chase down your goals, especially at Circuit Finals. Best of luck on the road ahead—and once again, congratulations on this amazing achievement!
