Tell us a little about yourself? Where did you grow up and how did you get into horses?

I grew up in Oklahoma where barrel racing and rodeo is a way of life. I never remember a time when we didn’t have horses around. My parents both were involved in the livestock industry so it was natural for me to be involved also.

 

What is your horses personality like? Any quirks? What is something people may not know about your horse?

She is all business. She likes her food and she can be a little crabby.

 

Did you breed and raise this horse yourself? If not, what attracted you to this horse to purchase?

I bred, raised and trained her and I also raised both her dam and her maternal grandsire.

 

Tell us anything special about your arena record run – was there anything you done different that day?

We did the same thing we always do.

 

Do you have a favorite setup?

I don’t, we just like great ground. The folks that run the WR arena take a lot of pride in their ground, that’s why they get the great horses.

 

What is your horses exercise routine like?

I try to ride every day if possible, but this time of the year they are getting enough runs at the barrel races and rodeos, I don’t always get to ride them every day.

 

What is your feeding program like, do you use any special supplements?

Good alfalfa and Bluebonnet Equilene. I do feed daily electrolytes also.

 

What is a bit that will always be hanging in your tack room?

Ed Wright lifter.

 

Does your horse run in shoes are barefoot?

Shoes

 

Any big Future Plans?

Hoping to make the Prairie Circuit finals again this year and hopefully get qualified for next years building rodeos.

 

If you could make a run on any horse out there, who would it be?

Jarvis

What could be done to better the sport of barrel racing any special advice you would like to give?

Move to more balanced payouts with less top loaded payouts.
